"So... you just want me to stand in the middle of this circle?"

"Yes."

Sounded easy enough--and at least she got a break from that awful Farrel and that boring Lucia. But still... "What's the point, exactly?"

Brett winced. Back on the couch, Nathanial sighed and Kenneth smirked over his book. What did these people have against her? She was pretty and rich and knew how to get what she wanted--hell, she'd been popular all her life. She wasn't used to this. People laughing at her... keeping things from her... "So... are you going to answer some time today, or what?"

"We've been over this, Shellee." A funny sort of smile on his face, Brett ushered Shellee into the circle on the floor, then stepped back to join the other two. "It's been years since the last successful Walk and we want to see if you can change that for us."

Oh yeah. That 'Walking' thing. She still wasn't quite clear on that. Lucia had tried to explain, but what did Lucia know? "Okay. How do I do that?"

"Just keep your mind on the number five."

...That makes no sense. "What does that have to do with anything?"

Brett sighed. God, he did that a lot. "It's your destination. The only way you're going to get there is to focus on it."

What the hell did he even mean? She almost missed her father and all his stupid rules. "Okay, okay, whatever."

Five.

Five.

Five, five, five, five, five.

Five.

Easy enough. Hmm... I wonder if this 'five' place has a decent mall?

  1. Okay. So...

Continued computer weirdness on my front. There's nothing I can really do about the problem, but I think I've at least managed to stabilize it. I haven't tried to run Sims yet, though, so I'm not sure whether or not it'll work. Considering that all of the programs I've tried are fine it should work, but I don't want to get my hopes up just yet. If the game doesn't work, I'll just keep writing and add the pictures after I either get a chance to take the computer in or get my parents to mail me the drivers disc.

In the mean time... I don't know. We'll see.

  2. You can't say you're having computer problems right after a chapter like this!

Also, yay, caught up again! I really let my reading slip. Normally, I read your stuff as soon as it's posted. It's always so easy to fall into.

She wonders if "five" has a decent mall, lol! Also, the last few pictures so remind me of panels from a comic book. I love them!

  3. Fortunately, the computer issues have been fixed and will hopefully remain so for a very long time.

(I had to get a new hard drive... so I'm thinking the new one had better last a while.)

Thanks Lunar! I think I'm behind on some of my reading too :S Hopefully I'll get on that tomorrow after I wrestle with my poetry homework.

Glad you liked the effect of the last few pictures :)
